Greg's Driving School Offers Different Driving Classes

Greg's Driving School

If you have too many points on your driver's license or if you have a traffic violation, you may be required to attend driving school for driving lessons or take on line courses in lieu of extra training. Depending on where you live, you have different options for driving school. In Maryland, one such option is Greg's Driving School (if you live in New York state or NJ this school will not help you). In actuality, there are ten locations for Gregs Driving Schools in Maryland. This makes it convenient for you to attend a class near you.

Greg's Driving School offers three different programs: a Driver Improvement Program, a Point System Conference, and a basic Driver Education Program. They offer these lessons at any of their 10 locations.

Driver Education Program
The Driver Education Program (DEP) offers thirty (30) hours of classroom instruction which includes 10 sessions. Each session is 3 hours and 15 minutes long with a 15-minute break between each 1-1/2 hour.  Classes run Monday through Friday for two weeks (excluding holidays). You will also have six (6) hours of in-car training. There are three sessions lasting two hours per session. Driving times are made by appointment and may fall on any day of the week at any time. Note that you don't need to have a permit to start the course and any Maryland resident over the age of 15 interested in obtaining a drivers license may take this class.

Driver Improvement Program
The Driver Improvement Program is a 6-8 hour instructional program that is intended to provide driver rehabilitation. You may have been assigned to the driver improvement program for one of the following reasons: you were referred by a district court judge, you were referred by an administrative law judge in the office of administrative hearings (OAH), you were cited for a moving violation while holding a provisional driver's license; or, you failed to attend a point system conference (PSC) required by the MVA. (Please note that if you miss your DIP Due Date, your license will be suspended and it is unlawful for you to drive a motor vehicle.) This course may be taken online but you must take the final exam at one of Greg's Driving School Testing locations.

Point System Conference
The Point System Conference is a 2-hour program that is intended to reiterate to drivers the Maryland law regarding the Point System including the possibility of suspension or revocation of your driving privileges due to accumulated points. You will be assigned to attend a Point System Conference if you have accumulated 5, 6, or 7 points on your driving record within any two-year period.

Fees
The fees to take the various courses are as follows:
Point System Conference: $25 cash
Driver Improvement Program: $50 cash
Driver Education Program: call Greg's for the latest costs to take this class.

Avoid Points on Your License

By Dev K
Accumulating points in your driving record should be avoided like hot brick. More points can bring more trouble like suspending your license, taking away your privilege to drive or getting the insurance rate increased. Lowering the point is necessary if you don't want more trouble.
